What Organizing Looks Like

plan

I offer all of my clients a free consultation, either in person or by video call, so that we can discuss your space; what’s not working, how you’d like it to feel instead, and how I can help. Please don’t be concerned about how it is now, I’ve seen (almost) everything and it’s helpful to see things as they really are in order to create lasting change. And don’t hesitate to ask any questions or share any concerns you may have during the consultation, or any other time for that matter. After we meet, I’ll email a proposal recapping your intentions and outlining a general game plan.

categorize

Let the organizing begin! Sure, this process can feel overwhelming to get started, but once we get going it will feel much more manageable and even fun, I swear. Starting with the room, space, or category that’s especially not working, I’ll first categorize every item to be able to easily assess what’s there. It’s up to you how much you’d like to be involved during this part, I’m happy to sort everything for you if it feels like too much.

edit

Then, together we’ll decide what isn’t needed anymore and separate it out. Depending on lots of different factors like available space, usefulness, and how much you really like the object, we’ll determine deserves to take up real estate in your home. I’ll provide recommendations for the most sustainable and socially conscious ways to donate, recycle, or dispose of these items, depending on what they are. A Prius-sized donation haul is available at the end of each session!

place

Once we know everything that is staying, I’ll organize and find places for each item, then together we’ll assess how it works for you and make any needed adjustments. During this process, I may recommend and source certain organizing products that fit your style.

style

The final touches are to label as needed to make maintenance easy and style in a way that puts focus on the things that bring out how you want the space to feel.

recap

After we’re done, I’ll send you a summary of the work we did, any next steps, and some tips to help you maintain your new space!
